Orbital Water Rinsers, such as those manufactured by McBrady engineering, provide an economical means for automatically cleansing the interior of bottles and other types of containers. These are generally implemented on mid-range speed lines, and utilize water with a drained catch pan. The orbital carousel straddles the conveyor, and inverts the containers as they travel around the carousel in a pocket.
Water rinsers differ fundamentally from air rinsers in that sterilization can be part of the process. There are many ways the sterilization procedure can be performed; Steam, ozone, sulfur dioxide, chlorinated water, hot water, and blowers with sterile air or inert gasses (with or without a device for extracting the suspended particles) may be used. Systems for re-circulation and mixing of the sterilizing fluids with water may also be required. Water rinsers are generally made of stainless steel and are crafted to a high degree of precision to comply with the strict cleanliness, process control and anti-corrosion requirements typical of these types of systems.
The construction, design, and general requirements of orbital water rinsers do vary somewhat, although the types of containers used do not vary greatly: Generally, PET containers with a neck ring is required. Speeds range are typically from 60 containers per minute to 300 containers per minute. Fluid-type rinsers can usually be converted to air without difficulty.
At any given time, BPDM typically has a variety of rinsers and container rinsing machinery in its used, rebuilt and/or reconditioned inventory. We can also furnish new equipment or produce a system incorporating custom design features. Please contact us with your requirements if you would like to discuss your applications.
